Dean Jamyl Jackson is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He is the last of three children of the late Brother Earl C Jackson #7 and Sister Alma M. Jackson, PM #3. He has one child, Dean J. Jackson, II. He has a Brother, Aaron C. Jackson Columbus, Ohio and a sister, Grand Worthy Matron Loling M. (Jackson) Sawyer, (David B.) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Other siblings, the daughter and son of Brother Earl C. Jackson, Donna J. (Calvin) Griffith of Washington, D.C. and Ira E. Jackson of Columbus, Ohio
He was educated in the Columbus Public School system graduating from Columbus West High School in 1981. He furthered his education at the Ohio State Universityand Mount Vernon Nazarene Universityobtaining a BBA. Job opportunities came knocking and he was accepted into the Columbus Police Academyin 1988 where he scored twelfth on the test. He graduated from the Academy in 1989 and has served as a Columbus Police Officer ever since, following in his Father’s footsteps. He is currently serving as a Detective in the Fraud and Forgery Unit. He accepted Christ at an early age at Oakley Baptist Church.
Prince Hall Masonic Affiliations: He joined St. Mark’s Lodge No. 7, in 1986 and served as Worshipful Master in 2006. He is a member of L.D. Easton Consistory No. 21, member of Johnson Chapter No. 3 - Royal Arch Masons, a Past Potentate (2003-2004) of Alla Baba Temple No. 53 of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S. of North and South America and its Jurisdiction, Inc. and is also a Past Patron (2008) of Esther Chapter No. 3, Order of Eastern Star.
He has several interests including Prince Hall Masonry, sports, and is an avid Buckeyes fan
