William Howard Taft National Historic Site participated in the National Public Lands Day Event at 2048 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. The cleanup and work projects began at 09:00 am which consisted of volunteers beautifying the park grounds.
William Howard Taft National Historic Site was registered for this year’s National Public Lands Day Event scheduled for September 28, 2019. There were two groups present to assist the Park staff with tasks that consisted of: painting wrought iron fences, leaf raking in designated picnic table area and bagging of yard waste.
These young men and young ladies worked very hard and were very focused on the tasks at hand. Special thanks to these volunteer groups and leaders, who care about the park resources as well as care for the federal lands. They are the future leaders and preservationists leading us into the next century for future generations.
They are known as the Pythagoreans and Girls Assembly. These young people are guided and mentored by ladies from the Eastern Stars and Men of the Masonic Order which help with structure and team work.
The Groups Represented were Prince Hall Chapter of Cincinnati and Willa M. Saunders Girls Assembly of Cincinnati.
These pictures were also sent to Washington for National Public Lands Day
